Our Resort

Casa Palma is a place with a legendary history. In the golden age of Hollywood, stars like Errol Flynn, Horace Heidt, and Doris Day all owned hotels on our property. During the old studio-system era, actors were contractually forbidden to travel more than 100 miles from Hollywood without permission. Palm Springs—at exactly 99 miles away—became the perfect secret escape for the Hollywood elite.

Our property is located in Palm Springs’ iconic Movie Colony neighborhood, a community designed for film stars seeking retreat, privacy, and style. The post-war mid-century homes that defined the area reflected innovation and modern luxury, while the lifestyle was marked by Hollywood’s flamboyance and creativity.

In 1943, actor Errol Flynn built the Normandy Hotel (later called Casa del Sol) on this very site as a private haven for himself and his friends. The glamorous hideaway quickly became a gathering place for Hollywood’s biggest names and set the stage for the hospitality legacy that continues at Casa Palma today. Meticulously restored, Casa Palma packs the perfect punch for the young at heart, who want play in the moment, with the people they love (and also maybe just met). Here are some things you can do at our charming resort:
